What's in the air this week? is my cliff notes based on Chani Nicholas' weekly astrology forecast, with personal interjections, which I then turn into a blog post. (I encourage you to go listen to her full forecast, get on the Chani app, and listen to the forecast for your rising sign as well which gets more specific on how all these energies may be impacting you personally.)

This is what we reflect and meditate on in our Monday gathering, Astro-Meditation and then reference throughout the week in Wednesday Alchemize & Flow and Friday Village Vibes as well as at my in-person soundbath on Thursday nights.

If you'd like to journal - text throughout the article that is bulleted & italicized is suggested material for your drawn &/or written reflection.

What's in the air this week? Get Serious About Your Daydreaming

OVERVIEW for the Week of January 26, 2026

Three things about this week, according to Chani:

- It’s home to a once-in-165-year cycle.

- We’re going to see some really big power dynamics take place in our personal and collective lives.

- By the end of the week, something is going to get very loud, ferocious, and in our face.

This week’s astrology ends January and starts February, where we’ll have some quite rare astrology and a lot happening at once, making it one of the most important months of the year that may leave us with our head spinning. We’ll be beginning February with a big, obvious, very Full Moon in Leo. So get ready.

But first…

MONDAY the 26th - Neptune enters Aries, which is this once-every-165-years transit. It dipped in for a test run between March and October of 2025, but now it's here to stay for the next 12 years.

Aries, full of fire and get up and go energy, galvanizes things into action. Neptune, planet of dreams, ideals, visions, signals us to make sure we are actively dreaming on purpose, visualizing the world we want to create into being. One blind step forward at a time, meaning, moving forward even if we’re not sure what’s next after our most immediate step.

Neptune is a transpersonal planet, which means it is on the other side of what we can see with the naked eye. Saturn, the planet of form and structure, the boundary of the known world, is the last planet we can actually see, and it’s coming into play very soon.

We have Uranus (which will be stationing direct soon), the planet of disruption and upheaval, and Neptune, the dreams, ideals, hallucinations, delusions, and the importance of fantasy, imagination, creativity, hanging out on the outskirts of our known reality.

Neptune shifting into any planet is going to be asking -

  • What are our ideals?

  • How are we moving towards them?

  • Whose beliefs and ideals are going to win?

Now especially, shifting into Aries, there’s a big signature of a war of ideals.

Yes, there’s a fight here, but there’s also courage & determination! Remember, Aries, which brings the Spring (in the N Hemisphere) just bursts forth! It doesn’t ask for permission.

The ideals coming forward now are big, bold, and going to make a mark.

We need to take our ability (& duty!) to dream a new world into being very seriously, because if we don’t put our vision out there into the ethers and follow with real-world actions, others do and are. If there’s a void, someone’s going to fill it, and fascists are ready and waiting, right?!

We need to be serious about our daydreaming.

Stop ruminating so much on fearful thoughts and sorrow about what's happening.

Dreaming of what change we want to see is quite valuable.

And following with whatever actions we personally can take. One step at a time.

So - for a while now, Neptune will be at the zero point of Aries, the initiation point, bringing new life into being. Soon, Saturn will join Neptune at the zero point.

February 20th, they’ll make a conjunction which will ask us questions we can begin reflecting on now:

  • What is the dream, and what is the reality?

  • And how do we bridge the gap?

Saturn & Neptune come together to help us, little by little, dream up our bold vision and ways to create a future that’s worth living into, the practical, step by step reality.

Keep in mind - the last time Neptune was in Aries, there was a civil war in the U.S. And - here we are. What is a civil war? When two factions inside one nation have different ideals and are attacking each other (or rather in some cases, one side is attacking and one is defending).

There are a set of ideals laid forth in expectations of human rights and the Constitution which are being trampled upon.

ICE is the paid mercenary army, and shit is popping off. It’s a gruesome moment, but unfortunately not new to our soil.

This doesn’t mean this time has to be like last time, but - if we don’t want it to end up like before (in my mind, meaning ‘we’ won, but not really, because the systems weren’t put in place to make Justice & Liberty for All a reality), we have to take our current reality very seriously, and that means to dream of a better way, to build it in our minds, to begin building it in our realities.

Also the last time Neptune was in Aries, the Red Cross emerged, as well as the KKK. We see now the vengeance and backlash to all the progress we’ve made, as a nation, and as a world. White supremacist nationalism is yet again feeling more emboldened to rear its ugly head (but let’s be real, it never went away, now it’s head is swelling, it's being armed and funded - again - by the head dummy of the U.S. gov’t, Drumpf).

This is energy is partly about manufactured power, which whiteness obviously is, a tool so that the masses don’t wake up to how connected and similar we all are and unite against the top 1%.

Remember, racism is a distraction.

Toni Morrison said it best:

“The function, the very serious function of racism is distraction. It keeps you from doing your work. It keeps you explaining, over and over again, your reason for being. Somebody says you have no language and you spend twenty years proving that you do. Somebody says your head isn’t shaped properly so you have scientists working on the fact that it is. Somebody says you have no art, so you dredge that up. Somebody says you have no kingdoms, so you dredge that up. None of this is necessary. There will always be one more thing.”

We have come too far to be put back in a puny, insecure white man’s box. We can’t and won’t go back there! So we have to be present, dream bigger, and get clear on what each of our individual roles are at this time.

  • What are the ways I'm pushing back, fighting back, speaking up, divesting, resisting, uplifting?

Back to MONDAY. Neptune moves into Aries. This is one of the biggest events of the last couple years. Ruled by Mars, which separates things, Neptune blurs the lines.

  • Whose imagination is most captivating?

  • Whose vision will win?

  • How do we wake the collective up (including ourselves!) from the delusion of wanting to be pacified to sleep?

TUESDAY the 27th - Mars & Pluto form a conjunction which is not very nice.

We have to remember that our power doesn’t always need to be on display.

Collective power runs deep, and it’s important sometimes to keep some things on a subterranean level and be excessively strategic out on these streets.

There may be a power grab, some sort of backstreet deal happening, so be wary at this time. In Aquarius, where Pluto has ushered in a tech-bro oligarchic vibe, there’s good reason to pause and be suspicious and wonder - What are they up to?!

On a personal level - pay attention to the part of your chart that contains Aries. See what part of your chart Neptune is about to spend over a decade in, and where it's about to erode certain boundaries that you’ve got there, for better or worse.

Sometimes our boundaries need to be Recalibrated!

Yes, some of us have issues having strong enough boundaries...

And. Some of us might be too boundaried, or closed off, shut down, defensive. Neptune will erode what needs to soften a bit.

The part of your chart that contains Aries, that area or aspect of your life, will become more porous, so you might ask yourself -

  • Where can I open up a little?

  • How / in what scenarios can I practice vulnerability a little more in this area of my life?

  • Where do I want to avoid being overly vulnerable in this area of my life?

  • We’re not talking about dropping all your defenses, obviously, that would be silly; but is there a way, little by little, that you can practice vulnerability in a helpful way in this area of your chart that contains Aries?

Also TUESDAY - Mars + Pluto conjunction makes for some seed-planting astrology. But it may feel a bit dicey, requiring we work with this energy with great Respect… (Is that giving 'Be careful what you wish for' vibes?)

This is about the wealth that’s underground, subterranean. The wealth of our psyche, our unconscious, the wealth of information that lies just under the surface of our life. When Mars pairs up with Pluto, it wants to dig in and know all of that.

This is great astrology for getting down to the truth, about yourself and an area of your life. Wherever Aquarius is in your chart is getting lit up big time and impacted by this, and then there will be an eclipse here in a couple weeks as well. There’s a lot being unearthed in this area of your life. Go check out that part of your chart and ponder a bit about what it means for you.

Understand the wealth that is inherently in you a bit better, so that when the eclipse comes, it can bring you a clearer message or understanding of what to do with that supercharged moment.

It is time to be catapulted into the next phase of our growth, and the next iteration of our life. There will be a new idea, a new way of doing things, new opportunities that come with the eclipse, for you, in this area of your life where Aquarius resides. (For example, according to the whole house system that Chani uses, I have Jupiter at 4° of Aquarius in the 9th House, which is how and where I create abundance.)

It’s time to ask -

  • What do I need to know about myself?

  • What do I need to anchor into internally so I can be a little more prepared?

  • How can I prepare the ground a bit for the eclipse that’s going to be coming?

THURSDAY the 29th - Mercury and Venus come together, bringing some really lovely messages. It’s a good time to show your gratitude, let your friends know you love and appreciate them. Be specific, give them their roses. Talk freely about who and what and how you love. This is a soothing balm for the edgier aspects of the week’s astrology, especially the Mars-Pluto conjunction.

With regard to the energies of subterranean power dynamics - get clear.

  • Do I even remember that I have power?

  • Does that person (boss, coworker, friend, family member) really have power over me?

  • Am I giving my power away to someone?

  • Am I projecting my power onto someone?

  • Are they projecting it onto me?

SUNDAY Feb 1st - Very loud Full Moon in Leo. Sitting square to Uranus and opposite Mars, it has an edge to it.

FM in Leo usually is full of cute drama and flare, maybe a little extra. This one, square Uranus, opposite Mars, is shaking something awake, and heading us towards eclipse season, so it might be a bit more on edge than we’d prefer. But it’s giving us permission to be really loud, ‘go forth, with big hair and a fabulous outfit,’ get the attention you need, and direct the attention where it needs to go most right now.

Leo is pure creative potential, and the gorgeous quality of zero degrees Aries, where Neptune is sitting, is also pure creative potential.

Fire signs are creative signs, they remind us of our creative potency, the power of our intuition, and acting from our gut. They feel the inspiration and move with it, spurring us into action. That is the reminder that this week is bringing us - to move with the creative pulse of life that’s moving through us.

As this Full Moon is also happening while Uranus, planet of disruption, chaos, and upheaval stations direct, it pulls focus, and stationing really close to the fixed star Algol, that emphasizes our power, creative energy, and righteous rage.

This is a bit of a setup, a foretelling of what’s going to happen in mid-February with the eclipse in Aquarius. Things are speeding up a little. We have to take our time and creativity seriously.

Creativity is the greatest threat to fascism, the machine, the supremacist powers that be, because our creative agency is our power, reminding us and the world that we can create something different.

Things happening at zero degree Aries are saying “Move to create new life.” The time is now. It’s not going to be easy, simple, or straightforward. It’s going to be messy, but we will move through it, together, and be galvanized by it.

We can center humanity, connectivity, and collective liberation.

The time is ripe for creating new paradigms, philosophies, and ways of seeing ourselves, as allies to one another.

If this time is somehow echoing the last Civil War on Turtle Island -

We get to make different moves this time.

The patriarchal white supremacist imperialist structure has to be brought to its knees, once and for all.

We don't know what that's going to look like, but we know that things can't continue on as they have been. Buckle up, buttercup, get your mind right.

Stay Recalibrated & ready for whatever's next.

The ride's gonna get wilder before it settles down.

Dream big. Let's co-create this next paradigm, the New Earth, together.
