What’s in the air for the Week of April 27?
This is my summary of the week's astrology, contemplation about the energy it brings, and suggestions for journaling - in bullet point, bold face italics throughout the text. The week's themes are woven into the Recalibrate Community gatherings, and the Recalibrate Soundbaths.

This is a big week!
Something peaks, reveals itself, or reaches completion.
Perhaps there’s something that’s been brewing under the surface which comes into the light. Something may be exposed, fall away, or shift in a way that can’t be ignored.
We’ve already been taking in quite a lot of mind-blowing shit, it's hard to fathom what else might be in store for us.
So first and foremost, this is a week to take care of yourself, because everything we are witnessing, reading, hearing, and processing - it’s not just coming through the eyes and ears into the mind; it also lands in the body, and sometimes we don’t even realize it.
On Friday, May 1, we’ll have a Full Moon in Scorpio.
(+ This is a month where we have two full moons, so we’ll get a blue moon at the end of the month.)
Scorpio does not do surface-level. This energy is dealing with themes of:
deep emotional waters
truth revealed
power dynamics exposed
death and rebirth.
Not necessarily literal death of course (although maybe…), but endings, closures, transformations.
Full Moons are peak moments, and this one definitely feels like a turning point. Something becomes undeniable that may be life-changing.
It’s during times like this especially, that we need to be sure to take care of our bodies and our nervous systems so that all of the horrible information that’s coming at us every day doesn’t land in our bodies and get stuck there.
Remember that last week on April 20, we had Mercury, Mars, and Saturn together, and that may have had an impact on the amount of violence we’ve been seeing exposed and enacted.
The psychological and emotional assault women are under in general already, then with the Epstein files, the fact that NO action is being taken about them, and now the revelation of the online R*PE ACADEMY, is really a lot to handle and process! If we allowed ourself to really feel all the rage for all the things, we might explode, we might completely lose our minds.
More and more, the ugly truth some have always known about just how disgusting and violent white patriarchy is comes to the fore, and maybe finally one of these things will be what breaks the load, what takes them all down, what really sets a full paradigm shift in motion.
The Full Moon in Scorpio this week should help keep exposing the hidden nastiness. Maybe we’ll get lucky and be able to clear some of the swamp monsters out of DC, though I’m certainly not holding my breath.
The death and rebirth theme is emphasized with this lunation in its placement in Scorpio, while squaring Pluto, who is also all about death and rebirth. Emotions may be heightened, and feelings that are usually hidden may be brought to the surface.
Scorpio can be quiet and stealth, but sometimes things occur under this sign which land in such a profound and deep way that it can be life-changing.
Remember that Scorpio also generally brings a lot of clearing energy, and we do tend to feel full moons for days leading up to its fullness, so this week is great for release. This lunation is occurring at 11° of Scorpio, and 11 is the number of divinity, so there may be a flavor here of what feels like Divine Timing.
As we know, Uranus just moved into Gemini this weekend, which is a big shift as it will be here for over seven years. (My rising sign, woohoo!) Ready yourself for major liberation, getting loud and messy, disrupting the status quo, giving less fucks about whose feelings get hurt by our declarations of freedom, a personal new world order.
And Venus is central to this week’s energy, helping us focus on relationships, build unions, literally and figuratively, strengthen our bonds, and dream about a more expansive vision for your life. This Venus imprint will also be felt through Uranus' 7 years in Gemini, as they 'held hands' crossing the threshold.
TUESDAY the 28th - Venus, which is newly in Gemini and just also met up with Uranus, maybe flirty and slightly chaotic energy, makes a trine with Pluto in Aquarius.
This is giving Power to the People, union building, community organizing, lots of dialogue and people coming together around new ways of doing things, changing up the status quo.
WEDNESDAY the 29th - Venus squares the Nodes. Perhaps there’s a decision on the table, a new direction we may be entertaining, a crossroads we’re facing.
Pay attention.
Are you missing some data that will inform your decision?
Is there a relationship that might not survive the changes you know you need to implement in your life?
Or perhaps a relationship that’s telling you clearly it needs to go a different way?
Is there something you’re creating that is at a turning point in its process?
The dynamics of power balance, and imbalance, especially in relationships, are coming up for discussion. This applies personally and collectively.
You might find yourself asking:
Where am I going in this relationship (with a person or situation)?
Is this aligned?
Is this sustainable?
Is this something I continue… or release?
Also explore:
Is there a dynamic of power imbalance showing up in your life, as in someone overpowering you?
Is your power showing up by being controlling, and is there some way you are the one that needs to ease up on that imbalance of power?
How can you be in your power in a healthy balanced way in your relationships?
THURSDAY the 30th - The moon moves into Scorpio territory, getting close to full.
This is Beltane Eve, the night before the Celtic May Day festival! The final night of April marks the threshold between spring and summer. Similar to Samhain, this is considered a liminal period, when the veil between worlds is thinner, we have more ready access to the spirit realm. Traditional rituals involve lighting bonfires, fertility rites, and protective measures against spirits.
FRIDAY the 1st - May Day! Full Moon! General Strike! No school, work, nonlocal shopping, media blackout.
Scorpio Full Moons reveal the soupy goopy mess of transformation, the creative potential, as well as the potency or power of a moment or situation. This one has the possibility to make an enormous impact on our lives. We know that manure - rotting shit - stinks really bad, but it's great for enriching the soil, and helps us to grow beautiful things.
May Day is all about labor rights, the power of unions, and these are in Venus’ wheelhouse. And remember, Venus this week trined Pluto on Tuesday, squared the nodes on Wednesday, and then Friday, Venus makes a sextile to Saturn, who is newly in Aries. So the newness of these placements has Venus saying, Let’s find a new approach to this problem. This feels auspicious and supportive for People Power.
It’s a great day to strike, stay home from work or school, stay off screens, frolic about, enjoy nature, time with friends, celebrate or protest with community, and definitely do not make any big purchases or shop at big box stores. Our money has power, and we need to be more discerning in general, not just on this day but every day, about what we’re voting for with our dollar.
It is also Beltane, a celebration of life, fertility, creation, fire! This is the cross-quarter day between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice, a seasonal threshold, when seeds that were sown in later winter and the very beginning of Spring may be beginning to sprout, literally and metaphorically.
The energy is building towards the coming heat of summer.
So we have this an enlivening combination of energies this week: the deep emotional reckoning of Scorpio, the collective uprising energy of May Day, and the life force + creative fire of Beltane.
This is not subtle energy y’all.
It's a time to feel deeply, see clearly, and act meaningfully.
There is so much power in our connection, in our ability to empathize with one another, in coming together around causes that help us restore or maintain our dignity. When our bodies and minds are being used, exploited, denigrated, that’s a big cause of disassociating, on an individual and societal level.
Let us work with the power of this beautiful Full Moon in Scorpio to ground down into our earthly power and remember that we are part of nature, not separate from it. Let us be here now, in our earthly experience.
With the placement of the Scorpio moon at 11 degrees, the number of divinity, we’re being asked to release whatever is keeping us from being connected with our inner divinity -
Can you list a few ways that you do tap into your inner divinity?
And then a few ways that you feel blocked from doing so?
Also on Friday! Mercury conjuncts Chiron, who has been getting quite a bit of activity! Chiron is in Aries, we just had that whole clusterfuck of fiery Aries energy, and it’s not over.
Mercury + Chiron = speaking to the wound. This conjunction happens once a year, reminding us to give voice to that which has been hurting. Open the festering wound, find the cause of suffering, and apply the healing balm it needs. Allow the energy of the Full Moon to help you clear out the puss and move through this pain towards resolve.
We can understand intellectually all day how all these things are impacting us, but the most crucial thing is that we are aware of how all this lands in our bodies. Otherwise, if we’re not careful, every time we talk about it and hear about it, we relive it somatically, and not even just what has happened to us, or people we know, or people we hear about, in this life, but also people in our personal and spiritual lineage. We are filtering all of knowing this through our bodies, and through our nervous systems.
Remember, what’s being activated right now is not just about today and our current reality. It’s connected to past experiences, old wounds, inherited patterns, collective memory.
Remember, our body is the vehicle through which we experience being human. So all of this Chiron activity is reminding us to tend to the temple.
SATURDAY the 2nd - Mercury moves from Aries into Taurus, and that grounding energy may help us slow down and ground a bit, come back into our bodies, and our breath, and chat about the slow life and how to create a sustainable world.
So - THIS WEEK is asking of us:
Not to numb out or spiritual bypass, of course, because that’s not what we do here, and - also not to overwhelm ourselves to the point of shutdown.
Challenge yourself this week -
✨ Stay present with what’s real,
✨ care for your bodies as we process ,
✨ feel what’s yours to feel ,
✨ stay connected to each other,
✨ channel what you’re experiencing into meaningful action.
That really is the medicine right now.
Meaningful action is the antidote to despair.
Ask yourself:
What is coming to a peak or completion in my life right now?
What truth is being revealed that I can no longer ignore?
Where am I being asked to step into my power?
How is my body asking for care and support?
What meaningful action feels available to me — right here, right now?
I’m here for you.
This is a super potent week, emotional, revealing, transformative.
And - full of potential for Recalibration and realignment.
You don’t have to process everything all at once.
Keep Recalibrating, grounding down, anchoring in - with your body, your breath, and your next step.
