I am not only a teacher, but an eternal student, so over time I will continue to weave other modalities into my work, continuing to grow & develop my practice, so that I can best be of service. Thus, I say 'current toolkit' because I am a perpetual student and will continually gain new knowledge and skillsets that compliment my work, so that I may best serve You, my family, and my Self.

Meditation
Meditation is at the foundation of everything I do. It helps relieve stress, helps you ground and find your center, helps to reset, and can become a guiding force in your life that helps you find your path and stay on it. Come see me, or invite me to come to you, live or via Zoom!
There is no limit on the variety of approaches to meditation. In some traditions, the idea is to settle into total stillness and simply observe oneself, and to cultivate a practice that helps you be mindful and present as you move through daily life. Generally speaking, the common threads connecting most practices are body awareness, breath awareness, and mindfulness, being present, in the moment. Beyond that, the ways to slip into the inner dimensions of your mind & being are endless.

While some traditions focus on discipline and mastery, and there is certainly something to be said for that, I want to guide people into a state of deep relaxation, nurturing, & healing. I love to create opportunities for deep restoration, personal revelation, & transformation.
I incorporate live music into almost all of my group sessions. Yoga Nidra in particular has become a guiding force in my work, and my training in Life Coaching, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy influences the way I guide meditations as well.

Reiki

Simply put, Reiki is an activated hands form of healing in which the practitioner channels energy through their hands into the recipient by means of touch or intention, which activates the natural healing processes of the recipient's body. Essentially, the Reiki practitioner is a conduit for Divine Source Energy, which flows into the recipient and awakens their life force, the Source Energy that already exists inside of them.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - "Rei" which means soul, spirit, or Universal life force and "Ki"which is life force energy. So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
The hands are placed on the body, or several inches above the body in the biofield, as needed, and often the recipient will feel a great warmth emanating from the practitioner's hands. Reiki has an intelligence of its own, and I say 'by means of touch or intention' because Reiki actually works from a distance as well. It is a different experience from receiving Reiki in person, but people often report feeling the sensation of my touch, feeling my presence as though I were there, in addition to feeling relief from relevant symptoms, an overall sense of peace & wellbeing, and sometimes a profound movement of energy, or other sensations.

I liken it to 'plugging in,' similar to how electricity works when we plug into an outlet. In a sense, the Reiki practitioner is like a charger. When giving Reiki from a distance, I connect with you in my consciousness and imagine that I am touching your body or biofield where healing is needed, and it works! This is a powerful form of healing that never ceases to amaze me, and the only way to truly understand it is to experience it for yourself.

Sound Healing

Sound healing, like yoga and meditation, is not a new concept. Sound has been utilized in various cultures for thousands of years as a tool for healing; it is a practice that has been re-emerging into consciousness culture as more people become aware of its capacity to bring deep peace and relaxation, and to aid in healing on all levels. It is a widely varied ancient practice with roots in many cultures and traditions throughout time. Whether through the use of the voice via mantras and chanting, Icaros (medicine songs) of various Indigenous peoples from Central and South America; drums, drum circles, gongs & singing bowls; tuning forks; or soothing sounds of wood flute, chimes, and other instruments, all have the same intention: to Shift us from a place of Imbalance to a place of Balance.

Sound is vibration, and given that we are 80% water, we are very sensitive to (and also composed of) vibration. Sound healing is always accompanied by first guiding one into a meditative state. The vibrations from different instruments interact with you in different ways, and so whether the sounds simply soothe your soul, penetrate your core, or go inside your body and rearrange your molecules, inevitably, one feels a Shift after a sound session. A sound healing session provides the opportunity to drop down through the Alpha (relaxed consciousness) state, into states where internal healing can occur - the Theta state, where your brainwaves reach the slowest vibration before actually going into deep sleep, and sometimes even into the Delta state (same vibration as deep sleep).
Some of the instruments literally interact with your body on a cellular level, healing your DNA.

"Modern science is finally recognizing that energy constitutes the blueprint of the physical body. Meanwhile, the energetic vibration of sound can be used to change that blueprint in ways that foster health and well-being. Genes literally express themselves in different ways when exposed to specific kinds of sound."
- Donna Eden, author of Energy Medicine
Sound healing & sound baths vary depending on who is offering. Some people work with tuning forks, some with crystal and Tibetan metal singing bowls, some work with symphonic Gongs, drums, flutes, and other accessory instruments.
Since I am a musician, and an energy worker, I am coming at this work from the perspective of a multi-instrumentalist and intuitive healer, and Reiki invariably flows through my music as well. I work with a variety of instruments, and when offering sound bath, I typically progress through a soul-soothing soundscape incorporating any of the following - wood flute, Tibetan metal & crystal singing bowls, metallophone, xylophone, a variety of drums, chimes, and my voice.

Transformational Coaching
Transformational Coaching combines my training in Life Coaching with my lifelong experience as an Intuitive. In some ways, my coaching is similar to talk therapy, but you actually get feedback and suggestions of how to move through whatever issues you are facing, whether physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, or all of the above.

Instead of trying to get you to change how you act, as in life coaching, we work on tracing the root of the behavior, acknowledge the conditioning and underlying belief system that is contributing to or causing the 'problem,' and work through this to change the way you see yourself, which in turn, leads you to change how you act. If you have unresolved childhood issues that are interfering with your adult life, let's move through it, together. If you feel stuck in your life, but you're not sure why, let's dig in and find the roots, honor what you find there, and make way for shift and change....

Incorporating Transformational Coaching into my practice was a natural progression. I found that in working with clients for Reiki, rather than having a 5- or 10-minute cursory check-in and then getting folks right on the table to receive, some folks really need someone to talk to and troubleshoot their lives with! And given that I am super passionate about really engaging people in their own healing and evolution, I began encouraging folks to sign up for longer sessions, and organically began incorporating coaching into my practice. Then I decided to go ahead and make that official, completing a Life Coaching Certification with The Academy of Modern, Applied Psychology. As my practice has grown and the life coaching has been influenced by being an energy worker and Intuitive, and training in CBT, I've come to realize that my natural approach is actually that of a Transformational Coach rather than a Life Coach.
I can't help but see all the details, the big picture, so in my case, Transformational Coaching is something I intrinsically incorporate into almost everything I do. I'm a problem solver. I always have been. And I don't like seeing others suffer, although I recognize and honor that working through that is part of our spiritual path as human beings. In my 1:1 practice, typically Coaching is combined with other services rather than as a standalone service, although that is an option.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a highly effective method for getting unstuck, in particular for more left-brained people who like empirical evidence and perhaps a more academic approach to problem-solving. I had been hearing about the effectiveness of this method for many years, and had heard about it from friends who had worked with a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, and so I decided to dive in with a CBT Certification (also from Kain Ramsay, Founder of the Academy of Modern, Applied Psychology,) which has been amazing. It is my newest tool, and like Life Coaching, something with which I have found certain aspects that I had been instinctively doing most of my life, in my own processing, and in helping others through their processing.
As with my other services, CBT influences most of what I do, and is usually organically incorporated into the work, but available as a standalone service.
"Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that treats problems and boosts happiness by modifying dysfunctional emotions, behaviors, and thoughts. Unlike traditional Freudian psychoanalysis, which probes childhood wounds to get at the root causes of conflict, CBT focuses on solutions, encouraging patients to challenge distorted cognitions and change destructive patterns of behavior.
CBT rests on the idea that thoughts and perceptions influence behavior. Feeling distressed, in some cases, may distort one’s perception of reality. CBT aims to identify harmful thoughts, assess whether they are an accurate depiction of reality, and if they are not, employ strategies to challenge and overcome them.

CBT is appropriate for people of all ages, including children, adolescents, and adults. Evidence has mounted that CBT can benefit numerous conditions, such as major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and many others. Research also indicates that CBT can be delivered effectively online, in addition to face-to-face therapy sessions." (Psychology Today)

Expressive Arts

The Arts are a truly valuable form self-expression, regardless of the mediums you choose to explore. As an interdisciplinary artist who has always been into all of the arts for as long as I can remember (see 'about my path'), I have found refuge, freedom, ways to process my life & ponder my existence in a nonverbal realm, ways to give voice to my experience, whether written or spoken or emanating from my being, and ways to heal and move forward.
I value the process of creation over perfectionism, and I believe that everyone has an indwelling creative spirit, waiting to be awoken. This is not about becoming a master at a particular art form, although if that is your aim, I can assist you in getting there! This is about using the Arts as a vehicle of self-expression, self-discovery, self-inquiry, honoring, releasing, and healing.
We may work with the voice, write, play music, draw, paint, make collage, move our bodies, dance, even tap dance! As with my other services, the Arts influence everything I do, and are either organically incorporated into our work as you desire, or are available as a standalone private session in a particular discipline - such as visual art, drums, tap dance, , ballet, voice (singing or chanting), piano, photography, or writing.

Tarot

Tarot is not an area of expertise for me, but I am working on it.... At this time, it is simply another tool we can incorporate into our sessions to help seek clarity & guidance on an issue. The Tarot is not about predicting the future, but simply put, the Tarot aids one in coming in contact with one's Higher Self, so that you become more clear with that which you already, in fact, know, but in some cases are hiding from or ignoring.

Food As Medicine / Health Coaching

Everything's connected! So I treat the whole person. If you are having mood issues, or physical issues, sometimes there is something in your diet that is sabotaging your wellbeing.

The time is ripe to transform your relationship with food. They say ignorance is bliss. Well, not so with food, as poor eating habits will come back to bite you in the long run, via obesity, food allergies, inflammation, illness, auto-immune issues, and even disease.
Too often, rather than eating to nourish our bodies and minds, we eat to indulge in decadence of the pallet, soothe ourselves emotionally, or maybe we just grab what's quick and easy, and often not so good for us. And for many folks, even if they want to eat healthy, they really are not sure exactly what that means, where to begin, or how to sort through all of the information out there.
I am here to demystify all of that for you and help you to understand the basics of eating for optimal health, whether you eat meat, seafood, vegetarian, or vegan. There are some basic guideposts underpinning a healthy diet that are pretty easy to follow, once you simply understand how various foods affect the alkalinity and acidity of your body. All disease thrives on an acidic environment, and cannot survive in an alkaline environment. This is how some people have cured themselves of cancer using Food As Medicine, because they have eliminated acid-causing foods from their diet, shifting the pH of their bodies so that cancer cells simply cannot survive.

Food truly is the Original Medicine. Mother Nature has provided us with everything we need. We can eat to prevent sickness, and we can also eat to heal maladies that have befallen us and recover from acute and chronic illnesses. Of course, sometimes Western medicine is needed, but too often, that is the go-to panacea. Meanwhile, the diet is still crap, creating an acidic environment in the body, which illness of all kinds thrive on; and then a bunch of pills are thrown at the problem, often causing a cascade of side effects. Pharmaceutical medications, without discrimination, further contribute to the acid environment of the body. They should be a last line of defense when all else has proven ineffective, not the first go-to.

Let's talk. I've been at this for 25 years, guiding myself and many others through various health crises, and seeing the same results, again and again. I offer no Guarantee, and do not intend this guidance to be a substitute for advice or diagnoses from a Medical Doctor. What I do offer is an opportunity for you to prove to yourself that Shifting

-
What you put into your body,
-
How you feel when you do so, and
-
Why you eat & When

will inevitably lead to better outcomes for your overall health - physical, mental, emotional, and energetic.

I am passionate about helping people transition off pharmaceutical drugs (with the approval and guidance of their doctor) which are incredibly acidic in the body especially when one is taking multiple pills a day. There are so many natural ways to achieve a lot of what is being attempted by prescription drugs. Curious? Let's talk!
