What's in the air this week?
OVERVIEW for the Week of Feb. 2
(This is my weekly energy synopsis of what's happening astrologically, based on the forecast of Chani Nicholas, with some of my own interjections, and highlighted themes and questions for journaling if you wish.)
3 things about this week (according to Chani):
- Monday through Thursday - this may be our last chance at clarity, especially in regards to communications
- We’re going to have some jarring, awakening conversations, breaking news in the area of briefings, text exchanges, or a headline
- Coming off a huge, loud dramatic Full Moon in Leo, so take a moment to RECALIBRATE and move forward know that our tank may be close to empty
February is going to be wild, intense, and game-changing.
We’re now in Aquarius season. We have an eclipse in Aquarius in two weeks (the first one in Aquarius near the N Node in a couple decades). Eclipses galvanize big change. This eclipse also happens to fall on February 17, the Lunar New Year! Then in third week of February, on February 20, Saturn & Neptune come together.
So while there’s no massive astrology happening this week, we are moving toward those big events, and may still be reeling a bit from yesterday’s inflection point of the Full Moon.
Anything happening in Leo is eye-catching and attention-grabbing. Because this was sitting square to Uranus and opposite Mars, it begs a pause. It may feel a bit unstable, volatile, eruptive.
February is bringing us a series of monumental events, one after the other, and of course just for fun, we will finish off the month in a Mercury Retrograde that may be excessively messy.
This week gives us a bit of breathing room between the Leo Full Moon and the upcoming events. So -

TUESDAY the 3rd - Uranus - planet of disruption, upheaval, breakthroughs, freedom, and liberation - stationing direct, near the fixed star Algol, the blinking binary star, giving us a warning sign. If you have any placements at or near 27 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius, you especially will be feeling this. It may be a feeling of something aggravating you into motion, a last ditch effort from the Universe to deliver you the change you’re needing.
Algol is about the disruptive response, being rightfully enraged about injustice, so with Uranus stationing direct near it, this is potent, boundary-clarifying energy, as in -
Here’s what I have a problem with, here is my loud, disruptive response, and I am naming what’s wrong and leaning into my righteous rage about it.
And - it’s also exceptionally creative. This is Dark Goddess energy, which is going to touch on what’s bitter, enraged, poorly treated, wronged, maligned. And it also in turn reminds us of the deep well of creative regenerative power that we can access when we acknowledge the source of our rage around feelings of betrayal.

Beware - Algol can also make us lose our head a bit, make it hard for us to think clearly and rationally. As you reflect on what's been coming up in your personal life, &/or how you feel about what's going on in the Collective -

Are there ways you’ve been feeling betrayed or wronged?
Have you been battling feelings of rage about injustice?
What are the ways you can tap into your creative, regenerative power to transmute these feelings or circumstance?
THURSDAY the 5th - All of this gets amplified a bit as Mercury, the messenger, puts its mic up to Uranus. Breaking news. Big headlines. Something coming through to disrupt our daily life. Something coming to the surface that needs to be brought to awareness and talked about. With Uranus + Algol, something that can’t be stuffed down, it needs to be said.
Now Aquarius is very clear, clarifying, so with Mercury, we will be given information in the clearest way possible. Square to Uranus, it may also be loud, direct, and jarring.
You may be the one to deliver this kind of news, you may be the receiver, or it may be hanging out in the collective, in the ethers…
FRIDAY the 6th - Mercury moves into Pisces, the least logical, most poetic, one of the most creative, non-linear signs - where Mercury will station retrograde later in the month.
‘So we’ve lost access to easeful clear interactions. We’ve gained access to the poetics and thinking in watercolors…’ (Chani)
Mercury, in its detriment, its exile and fall in Pisces, doesn’t work as normal. We won’t get the information we need in the way or at the speed we’re used to. But we get a different way of thinking and seeing, hopefully a more compassionate, creative way. But pay attention to the details you might be missing, or leaving out.
END OF WEEK - Venus square Uranus, speeding up, a signature of needing freedom in our relationships and new ways of seeking out joy, pleasure, beauty, art, sweetness.
This is a very LIBERATORY kind of mark. Venus in Aquarius focuses on our collective relationships. Square Uranus, it says I have to interrupt my own people pleasing in order to make sure the group, the collective, is cared for and connected to. Help is coming, and yes, help comes, when we take care of each other and nurture our connections.
We must make sure that we are resourcing ourselves (which includes RECALIBRATING on the regular).
We must remember that everything is still in play, fear doesn’t serve us, we don’t live there, we lean into our power and remember that we are co-creating this moment, always.
We must remember and remind each other that our power is and always will be in what’s local to us, how we care for one another, show up for ourselves and one another.
When we take care of what is right around us, the effects ripple outward in a beautiful web of interconnection and power.
Where is your freedom, where is your power?

Drop in, breathe on purpose, slow everything down
Lean into empowered creative visualizations of what Freedom truly looks like, what changes you would like to see unfold -
in your personal life,
and in the collective.
