What’s in the air for the week of February 16?

Here's the astro weather, based this week on the forecast of two of my favorite astrologers, Chani Nicholas and Leah Whitehorse. I highly recommend you check out their forecasts for the week, and I'd also suggest Daniel Colón of Color We Crazy. You could check out his latest post in Instagram.

If you'd like to journal, my suggested questions to reflect on throughout are in bullet points and italicized.

OVERVIEW

This week is a really big deal. It has two super significant astrological signatures, one that hasn’t happened in a couple decades, the other in a few decades.

We've got a new moon solar eclipse in Aquarius, the Lunar New Year, the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, moving together into Aries, plus throw Jupiter, Mars, and Venus in the mix! For us, this means a moment of rapid change, and so it’s a good time to make sure you’re deeply resourced (hydrated, rested, supported, all that).

Plus! This year's Lunar New Year happens also to coincide with the beginning of the Muslim and Catholic Holy Days - 30 Days of Ramadan and 40 Days of Lent.

Think about how all of this will impact the Collective energy!

TUESDAY the 17th - We have the new moon solar eclipse in Aquarius, and it's also Lunar New Year! We are releasing that final skin shed of the Year of the Wood Snake, and galloping forward into the Year of the Fire Horse.

With the eclipse, the Sun and Moon come together in a way that the light of the Sun will be obscured.

With these two massive conjunctions, all these energies are merging and blending.

And, the Sun malfunctions a bit in Aquarius, it’s in it’s detriment, and it’s being eclipsed.

Aquarius is about the people, the collective, the whole of us. Not the one, the many.

What’s happening with leaders, who’s leading us, where are they leading us?

What’s the big thing happening this week that collects us, brings us together, reminds of us of our collective power?

Eclipse in Aquarius near the North Node is a new beginning.

Yes, a New Moon is a beginning, but this is amplified with the eclipse, happening in a new sign, setting off a series of eclipses that will happen here in Aquarius for the next couple years.

If you’ve seen it before, when the light gets obscured in an eclipse, the daylight goes from bright to that shadowy, silvery light, and things look different in that light.

Remember, the source of power and light during an eclipse is unstable, which can mean life could feel unstable or unpredictable.

Events that occur during eclipses speed things up. They create a domino effect.

February to March, this eclipse season, start-to-end, things look very different.

We will shed something, something massive in our lives will have shifted, especially in terms of where Aquarius and Virgo are in our charts. (Virgo is where next eclipse will be.)

WEDNESDAY the 18th - We enter Pisces season! “Excellent for remembering we’re all connected and compassion is queen.”

FRIDAY the 20th - This is where we get some of the most massive astrology with the conjunction of two of our slow-moving planets, Saturn and Neptune.

They are coming together, which is rare enough, on Friday the 20th.

But it’s not just that they’re coming together, it’s that they’re doing so at zero degree Aries, which is the point of the Equinox, the point of a new season, the time when new life is springing forth (in the Northern Hemisphere), the Astrological New Year.

Something new is emerging.

But these two planets, Saturn and Neptune, couldn’t be more different.

And they’re merging!

That brings the emergence of something full of activity that feels paradoxical.

Aries is impatient and active, it goes headfirst, and may be aggressive sometimes, and always courageous. It doesn’t sit back and think about things, it mobilizes others into movement!

Saturn is the planet of structure, form, and boundary, and Neptune, the planet of dissolving known reality, so they can be kinda trippy together.

They don’t go together!

And here, we don’t get to have everything as we want, so we will do best to accept things as they are, deeply, fully, and profoundly, so that we can change them and build the world we’re dreaming of.

This is a chance at a new beginning, a reset on the story, taking back our imagination, and taking back authorship of the reality that's being written right now!

We get to write the ending, not them!

Saturn, planet of reality, form, and structure - builds.

Neptune, planet of creativity and imagination - dreams!

It’s time now to dream bigger and more radically, more profoundly and powerfully than the reality we see in front of us now.

How are we imagining our way through this shit-show and out the other side?

It’s no secret that visualization really works and that’s how some of the world’s most successful people get there, so let us too remember our power, and remember to do the same, not just for our individual lives, but also for the collective!

How do we get the builder (Saturn) and the dreamer (Neptune) to work together?

The ways we usually do things (that never worked in the first place) - we get to dissolve them now…!

This week - practice visioning our work, our way through, our success, individually and collectively. See us winning!

Daydream about the longer term success, and, stay in the day.

Take things step by step. Keep doing the small things that will add up to big change.

  • “What seeds are we planting in this moment to help us keep envisioning what it is we are moving towards?

  • How are we envisioning our way through the hard, practical building work that’s needed right now?

  • How do we deal with our aggravation?

  • How do we deal with the conflicts?

  • How do we deal with the things that are incongruent?

  • How do we deal with the paradoxes of this moment in our own life so that we are building towards the dream?

  • What is dissipating?

  • What is being dissolved?

  • What traditional normal ways of doing things are no longer…?

Truthfully, this astrology is so big that it may be impossible to understand what it all means right now. We will have to live through it, one moment at a time.

This is a marker in time. A significant moment in history.

We’ve been building up to it for years.

Neptune and Saturn have been moving together through Pisces for close to three years now, and now they’ll be in Aries for about 2.5 years. They will finally seed something together.

Be especially aware during this time of how our systems are being overheated, and how our anger might get the best of us. (Oooh, that Aries fire; as an Aries moon, I know it all too well.)

  • “Where is my agency?

  • How can I locate it?

  • And what action can I take from here, just one little action at a time?”

We can acknowledge our righteous rage without letting it consume, engulf, or disintegrate us.

We have to channel it into creative, generative efforts in the world.

The last time Neptune was in Aries was during the U.S. Civil War, so we may again feel like this moment where the system is turning in on itself.

Saturn is in its fall in Aries, so it’s not able to function as easily as it normally would here…. which means systems malfunctioning, or those in charge, those holding the order of our system, malfunction.

Add in Neptune, esp. meeting in Aries brings some additional questions -

  • “Who’s trying to trigger a war?

  • Who’s trying to attack the system?

  • Who’s trying to dismantle everything so that, like lighter fluid, it can just be spread everywhere and everything can go?

  • Who’s benefiting from this chaos?

  • Who’s benefiting from the lack of structure?

  • Who’s benefiting from discarding law & order and operating from their own personal will & whims instead?"

The Sun is exalted in Aries, bringing heat, war, rulership, courage, action, emboldened energy.

Saturn-Neptune is also signaling a shift to where - we can’t count on things we’re used to being able to count on.

This Saturn-Neptune pot has been boiling for quite a while, and things have gotten increasingly unruly, which is anxiety-provoking.

Chani gives the analogy that having a living Democracy is like raising a child, it’s something you have to ‘do’ every day.

A true democracy isn’t a one and one checkmark, it’s a living entity that requires our participation! (Otherwise, the bullies take over!) We have to be attentive and involved. We have to create, and continue to evolve, the systems that will truly function to benefit The People.

No matter who’s in power, we have to stay vigilant and remember never to take our rights for granted.

This is the time to get involved in politics and governance on a local level in whatever way feels aligned for you, the PTA, school boards, town councils, etc.

Get clear on your Role at this time. I keep saying it again and again.

It’s the reason for the work I’m doing.

Work = Saturn. Dream = Neptune.

Best case scenario, we are working a little bit every day towards our ideals.

Worst case scenario, well… we’re living it.

Hopefully, this fierce, fiery Aries energy will help us feel emboldened and embodied in courage as we move through this energy.

The unsteadiness of an eclipse season in Aquarius is exacerbated by its square - within a degree - to Uranus, the planet of instability and freedom, liberation and chaos.

This is a very electric, and destabilizing, moment.

So - How can we use that energy for good?!

Perhaps for a break, or an opening to move through.

We have to remember we’re not just at the whim of everyone else’s chaos or presumed authority.

We have to be flexible and ready during unsteady times such as these.

Add Mars to the mix, it brings a biting, red flag energy, sitting in the square with Uranus and the New Moon solar eclipse.

Saturn rules this eclipse, Mars rules the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, and they can see each other. Defenses may be heightened, ‘knives out’ kinda energy.

But - “in Aquarius, Mars is very good at being a long-term strategist.”

Think locally and strategize long term.

Be extra careful and cautious this week. With Saturn ruling the eclipse, while sitting with Neptune in the sign of its fall, it may feel exceptionally messy or paradoxical.

How do we react?

How do we mindfully show up in a landscape of shifting rules and reality?

  • “What tools do I have and how else could I use them?”

Aquarius are the Thinkers of the zodiac, their “great gift is a sturdiness in their mental application of their energy….”

So it's time to put the thinking caps on and take inspiration from the great thought leaders and artists before us who have dealt with similar (and worse) shit.

  • How did our ancestors show up in the face of tyranny?

  • What did they risk?

  • What did they accept?

  • What price did some of them willingly pay?

  • How do we build solidarity?

This astrology feels super consequential, weighty.

It’s not limited to just the particular exact conjunction days, this has been growing, but things will likely be ramped up.

Check your charts. Where ever you have Aquarius and Aries are getting super activated. Fixed signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius will especially be feeling it, as well as Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. Get your bearings.

Daydream, actively, every day.

  • “How can I envision myself being as courageous and beyond as I could imagine?

  • How could I envision myself being as strategic and as thoughtful and mindful as possible?”

  • How can I be calm, paced, bold, thoughtful, and - cautious when I need to be?

Remember, Aquarius is measured, it’s gonna step back and say, Let me get a look at the bigger picture here, take all the information into consideration, be logical before making moves. But of course the Saturn-Neptune in Aries influence is ready to just act, and not think about things first.

Let your rhythm be easy this week. Remember to keep Recalibrating and grounding yourself. Don’t forget we’ve got this combustible fire and air combination happening. Don’t get swept up in that.

With Venus is Pisces, and Jupiter exalted in Cancer, our relationships and care are our greatest currency. Let’s nurture and nourish each other (& ourselves).

SATURDAY the 21st - Moon exalted in Taurus brings comfy cozy vibes, a good day to share some yummy food, snuggle up, and take a group nap. (Perfect! I'll be on retreat, and that is definitely the vibe!)

SUNDAY the 22nd - Venus trining Jupiter, both in the sign of their exaltation, brings a beautiful flow of friendly energy. Lean into beauty, art, nature, friends, connections, love.

Sometimes creating a community or being part of a community can come with a price. People can be annoying sometimes (including ourselves)! But there is a value here that makes it worthwhile. No matter what, remember that you’re not alone. Envision yourself being surrounded by people that keep you sane.

Find your peeps and lean in. (Thank you to my peeps who have been showing up to weekly Rhythm of Recalibration gatherings and helping to birth the Recalibrate Community. I appreciate you!)

Let me know how all this sits with you, and I'll see you on the flip side! We'll be looking back together going Whew! We made it! Look at what we created!
