Food as Medicine
Presentation on demystifying healthy eating
- 1 hr1 hour

This is a comprehensive overview that may change the way you look at food, forevermore. So many people eat, out of habit, to indulge their palates, drown their sorrows, or too often, simply eat whatever is quickest and easiest, without considering whether they are really fulfilling the purpose of their relationship to food - nourishment & healing! Many people are suffering from food sensitivities that are sabotaging their health, & they're not even aware of it. In most cases, it's unnecessary to undergo potentially costly (& painful) testing to see if that's the case. This presentation will demystify healthy eating by explaining the two categories that all foods fall under, what foods actually aid in preventing illness, and how to balance your daily intake so that you create an environment in your body conducive to wellbeing. Lose unwanted pounds, find clarity of mind, stability of mood, and prevent disease. We will look at the things you might be consuming on a regular basis and discuss which habits are helping or hurting your overall health. I will help you embrace some simple, easy-to-follow guidelines for eating healthier and feeling better. When major dietary changes are involved, you can start slow so that you don't get overwhelmed. With the knowledge gained in this presentation, you will learn about common food allergies & intolerances, learn to keep an intake / elimination / symptom diary, and to experiment with elimination diets to determine irritants, and devise strategies for healthiest eating. These sessions may be conducted in person or via video. Travel fees apply outside the Washington, DC area. For 1:1 sessions on this topic, including an inventory of your kitchen and all of the foods you habitually eat, visit the same title under 'private sessions.' This event can be catered with a healthy, organic meal or snack for an additional fee. Contact me to discuss.
